Participants may submit innovations aligned with science and technology education contexts.

Competition Guidelines

The following guidelines summarise key rules for EDIC 2026 (eligibility, originality, judging, and submission items).

1 • Eligibility

Who can participate

  • Awards are open only to registered participants of EDIC 2026 under IQ-SITE 2026.
2 • Originality

Original work & improvements

  • Innovation must be original.
  • Improvements/enhancements are acceptable if clear modifications and added value are shown.
3 • Submission Mode

Virtual evaluation

  • EDIC 2026 uses virtual judging.
  • Submit via the designated online platform.
  • Include: Extended Abstract (mandatory), YouTube video link (mandatory), supporting documents (optional).
4 • Extended Abstract

Format & contents

  • Use the official template.
  • Must include: title/author info, abstract/keywords, description (objectives/novelty/implementation/impact), conclusion, and APA references.
  • Language: English or Bahasa Melayu.
  • Format: Word (as instructed by organiser).
5 • Video Presentation

YouTube link required

  • Duration: 3–5 minutes.
  • Must explain: problem statement, concept, demo/functionality, impact/benefits.
  • Upload to YouTube and submit the link.
6–9 • Rules & Judging

Submission rules & decisions

  • Separate entry form for each innovation.
  • Only one innovation per form per category.
  • Judges appointed from academia & industry.
  • Judges’ decisions are final (no appeals/complaints).

Recommended to strengthen your submission

  • Slides (if any)
  • Industrial collaboration letter (MOA/LOI)
  • Patent or IP documentation
  • Publication evidence, awards/certifications
  • Business/commercialisation proposal, photos/brochures, related documents
